Hey guys! So I wanted to share some photos I did during our family vacation in Orlando. I took lots and lots of photo but only edited a handful. Due to the current projects going on I couldn’t edit as many as I wanted to. When I do get more done I will post them, for now please enjoy these.
We went to Universal Studios & Walt Disney World and while there I took some HDR’s. That is what I edited. Mostly of the Harry Potter Castle, cause it is the coolest thing ever. :0)
Enjoy!!!
I woke up one day with an idea that I couldn’t pass up. It was something that I knew needed to be done and I only had one day to have it shot, edited, printed and framed.
My wife has these Porcelain Dolls that she just loves, but it has come to be a time that she needs to let them go. I know deep inside she really doesn’t want to. Now knowing that she is going to get rid of them. This idea came to me. With her birthday coming I decided to take a couple of the dolls and photograph them. I didn’t want to do something basic like a product shoot. I wanted to bring the dolls to life, give them personality. So I took then out and shot them, well I took one out. The other I needed to do a studio shoot with.
So I started with the first one. The Fairy Doll. I know with this one I wanted a daylight look. Very hard key light and yellow tones. I wanted it to be like a fantasy piece, like fairies are. So I took the doll to our local park here in Burbank and shot her. Below is the final shot.
Next was the Native American Doll. This was a given on how I would shoot her. I wanted the opposite of the Fairy. Cool tones and soft light. I know it would be a winter / snow setting, and since we don’t get that in LA. I put her in the studio and would composite her in the snow in post. Here is the final image.
Here is the final gift. She loved it and scored me some brownie points for husband of the rest of the year.
that’s not why I did it though.
I will try to post a Behind the Scenes video on the setups, editing and compositing later.
